A delegation from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs led by the deputy minister for labor affairs participated in international legal immigration policy (sending laborers to abroad) program in Istanbul, Turkey.

Deputy Minister of labor and social affairs Sayeed Abdul Karim Hashmi has thanked from International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) during his speech and called the center a good friend of Afghanistan, he farther added: Afghanistan, with a population of more than thirty-two million people, has spent the last forty years of severe war conditions and these wars have affected the entire nation of Afghanistan especially children and the labor force also suffered mostly in the country.

In his speech, Mr. Hashmi remarked that unemployment is a social problem, lack of security, illiteracy, corruption, are the main causes of unemployment and illegal migration, ministry of labor and social affairs have always tried, to increase the capacity of the labor force and send them abroad according to international migration policy with the full cooperation of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in this regard and hope to make a comprehensive policy in the near future, he added.

Many countrymen will return to the country after peace settlement in Afghanistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social affairs along with cooperative ministries (Ministry of Refuge and Repatriates, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development) have an important plan to provide work opportunities for returning compatriots. said the Deputy of labor Affairs.

In the Last past decade, illegal Migration was a serious threat around the world and added: it is concerned to control the serious threat of unemployment and we will formulate a strategy for legal sending of Afghan laborers abroad by the cooperation with Immigration Policy Development Center and so much progress has been made in this strategy and hope to be completed in the near future, said: Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs.
