Deputy Minster of Labor Affairs Participates in International Laborers’ Day

The Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, Alhaj Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, attended a ceremony to honor Labor Day and delivered a speech at the event.
First, Alhaj Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai extended his congratulations on the occasion of Labor Day. He stated that Labourers are the pillars of a society's progress. They endure hardships and challenges for the country's development. It is the government's responsibility to provide proper working conditions for employers and Labourers to ensure their rights.
After that, Mawlavi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai added, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, particularly the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, is committed to reducing the unemployment rate in the country. He urged the importance of Labourers’ legitimate rights and to expand employment opportunities for young people in various sectors. The government is striving to facilitate the deployment of skilled Afghan Laborers abroad.
The Deputy Minister further stated a complaint department has been established in order to address the challenges faced by Labourers. He emphasized the importance of responding to their complaints promptly.
Following this, the Head of the Afghanistan National Union of Labourers’ and Employees, Alhaj Mawlavi Abdul Matin Mawlavizada, emphasized the importance of laborers in a society, fair treatment of Labourers and their rights. We are striving to provide a better working environment and living standard. He noted, these measures are essential to establish justice, and they will boost productivity in our society.
After the event, the country director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Afghanistan, Mr. Tite Habiyakare, expressed his appreciation for the Ministry's efforts across various sectors. He shared the ILO programs and activities in Afghanistan. Mr. Tite emphasized Labourers’ and employers’ rights, to ensure fair wage distribution, improve working conditions, prevent forced labor, promote social justice, and create job opportunities for youth. Additionally, he highlighted the need to develop labor-related laws and policies.
It is worth mentioning, the event's purpose was to celebrate International Labourers’ Day. In this event, high ranking official attended. Among them, Dr. Mohammad Naim, Deputy Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Obaidullah Aminzada, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, and Mawlavi Din Mohammad Haqbeen, Deputy Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, representative of the private sector and industrial unions.
