Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Meets with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kabul

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, met today in his office with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan, Mr. Ali Reza Bigdeli. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, with a particular focus on issues related to Afghan refugees.

First, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, welcomed the Iranian Ambassador to Kabul. He emphasized the need for joint efforts to address the issues and challenges of Afghan refugees during their return to the country. To ensure their return is voluntary and provide necessary facilities upon their arrival.

Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari expressed his country's interest in taking advantage of the Iranian experience in Labor Market Studies. He called for detailed discussions with the Iranian side to set a mechanism for transferring Afghan workers to Iran to reach a mutual understanding in this regard.

After that, the Iranian Ambassador to Kabul, Ali Reza Bigdeli, added that the presence of undocumented Afghan refugees in Iran disrupts the Iranian labor market. He reaffirmed Iran's commitment to facilitating the dignified and organized return of these refugees to Afghanistan.

Ambassador Bigdeli further added that Iran is eager to cooperate with Afghanistan on workforce exchanges and support the idea of employing skilled Afghan workers in the Iranian labor market. Afghanistan provides opportunities for skilled Iranian workers to work and contribute to the Afghan workforce.

In conclusion, both sides agreed to continue holding meetings on this matter in the future to reach a mutual understanding. Ambassador Bigdeli officially invited the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to visit Tehran for further discussions and other related topics.
