The Activities Guidelines of the High Council of Labor have been approved

The meeting was chaired by Al-Haj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, and representatives from labor-related unions attended. The guidelines for the High Council of Labor activities and duties of its secretariat were approved.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs welcomed the guests and expressed his satisfaction over the conduct of the council sessions. He added that the guidelines have been prepared based on the previous meeting discussions and decisions. The purpose of this council’s meetings was to promote labor relations among social partners, create an appropriate working environment within labor-related institutions, and align with the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO). Another part of this meeting was specialized for creating the secretariat of this council. The Secretariat of the Council will address the labor-related issues and protect the workers' rights.
The participants of the meeting welcomed the preparation of the council’s guidelines. They shared their views and suggestions to enrich it. The document was generally approved in three chapters and twelve articles.
The participants of this meeting included the acting head of the National Union of Afghan Workers and Employees, representatives of trade unions, private employment agencies, chambers of commerce and investment, agriculture and livestock sectors, and artisans and craftsmen associations.
