Coordination Meeting Held to Follow Up on the Commitments of the National Employment Conference

To follow up on commitments made at the National Labor Conference, the Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, Alhaj Mawlawi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, met with the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi.
First, the Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs praised the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and added: one of the main goals of the National Labour Conference was to create directly and indirectly nearly one and a half million job opportunities, for the Afghan people in the next three to five years, and The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has pledged to create employment opportunities for approximately 550000 people, Mawalwi Ahmadzai emphasized, and our ultimate goal is to ensure the actions outlined in the conference to be followed. He further stated that we also want to share information with the public about how many people are employed in which sectors.
After that, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce spoke, by the grace of Allah, our country is secure, and it is a huge achievement for the IEA and the Afghan people. Unfortunately, poverty and unemployment remain major problems in the country. He stressed the need for collective efforts and swift actions to address these challenges. Miraculously, to achieve this purpose, we have designated thousands of acres of land throughout the country, and we have prepared a mechanism to distribute these lands. It is an initiative that will create job opportunities for many people and boost our economy.
Furthermore, these actions are being taken to implement our commitments, which were made at the National Labour Conference. We will soon share relevant information with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, His Excellency further added.
In conclusion, both sides agreed to form a joint technical committee. The committee will work closely and follow up on the commitments. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has signed agreements with 15 institutions at the National labor Conference. The MOLSA seeks to follow up on these commitments. The first meeting was held with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and this process will continue.
