The Child Protection Committee Held a Regular Meeting

A regular meeting of the Child Protection Committee under the leadership of the Child Protection Directorate of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs was held. The representatives from the Ministries of Education, Public Health, Interior Affairs, and Information and Culture, as well as officials from the Afghan Red Crescent Society, the Prison Administration Authority, and other organizations such as WCC, SCI, MCPA, and IRW. The representatives of these IEA and non-IEA organizations were participants of this session.
“It is our duty and responsibility to support vulnerable people, child laborers, deported, orphaned, and unaccompanied children, and to provide them necessary facilities for a better life.” These remarks were made at the beginning of the session by the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Alhaj Mawlavi Obaidullah Aminzada, while welcoming the guests.
He further added, The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is trying to provide education, healthcare, and shelter to needy people, laborers, deported, orphaned, and unaccompanied children. They are top priorities of the Ministry, and continued support in this area is being provided.
Following this, Mawlavi Saaduddin Mutmain, Director of the Child Protection Directorate, spoke about the importance of the rights of orphans and unaccompanied children from the perspective of Islam.
He also called on the national and international organizations to expand their activities in alignment with the policies and principles of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the ministries, agencies, and organizations mentioned their ongoing activities and achievements in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and pledged continued cooperation and support in this regard.
