Minister of Labor and Social Affairs meets with the Deputy Minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare of the Islamic Republic of Iran
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA), Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, met in his office with Sayed Malek Hosseini, Deputy Minister of Labor, Cooperatives, and Social Welfare (MoLCS) of the Islamic Republic of Iran (I.R. of Iran), along with his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, both sides discussed several topics, including strengthening bilateral labor, trade, and economic relations; the exchange of labor forces; conducting studies and improving the regulation of the labor markets in both countries; expanding technical and vocational training based on labor market needs; facilitating labor exchanges; ensuring the rights of Afghan workers residing in the Islamic Republic of Iran; and addressing other important issues.
Amplified efforts are necessary to facilitate more and better legal work permits for Afghan migrants and to expand technical and vocational training programs in Afghanistan, both quantitatively and qualitatively, including the establishment of joint training initiatives through mutual coordination. These efforts should also ensure fairness in wage payments, adequate insurance coverage, safe working conditions, and the full protection of the human and occupational rights of Afghan workers in Iran. Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, added these remarks at the beginning of the meeting while welcoming the Deputy Minister of MLCS of the I.R. of Iran and his accompanying delegation.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) is willing to reach a mutual understanding (MoU) and strengthen cooperation with various countries, particularly the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This cooperation would focus on capacity building, labor exchange, and the organized and legal deployment of skilled and professional workers and the protection of their rights in the host country. The Minister of Labor Affairs made these remarks during the meeting with the guests and participants.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate alongside Afghanistan through the implementation of joint projects in the areas of proper transfer of Afghan workers, exchange of skilled and specialized labor, launching short-term and long-term technical and vocational training programs in various sectors, and social support services. Mr. Sayed Malek Hosseini, the Deputy Minister of MLSC, shared these remarks during the meeting.
The continuation of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Afghanistan are assuring that these collaborations would continue. He noted that the historical, cultural, and religious ties between the two countries are deep-rooted and should be further strengthened. Mr. Hosseini further added these remarks.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral interactions. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and taking practical measures in job creation, labor market development, technical and vocational training, and migrant affairs, grounded in humanitarian solidarity. Mr. Sayed Malek Hosseini officially invited Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran in the near future to follow up the aforementioned issues and bilateral engagements.
