The Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs Meets with the Head of the Norwegian Refugee Council
The Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, Alhaj Mawlavi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, met in his office with Mr. Taria Magnusson Waterdal, the Head of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) intends to prepare a four-year strategy and considers the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) as an important strategic partner. Therefore, it is necessary for us to receive the ministry’s recommendations and suggestions in this regard. With the support of UNESCO, the NRC has plan to work on educational curricula for specific vocational skills and requested the ministry to continue its cooperation in this area. At the beginning of the meeting Mr. Waterdal expressed his appreciation for the close coordination between the MoLSA and NRC.
Mr. Waterdal further added that during his upcoming trip to his home country, he will try to convince the relevant authorities to provide assistance to Afghanistan in various sectors.
The technical teams of both sides should work closely together on specific mechanism, relevant ideas and proposals for more cooperation. Based on this cooperation, the scope of collaboration will expand in the future and appropriate and significant services will be provided to the Afghan people in various sectors. The Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, Alhaj Mawlavi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, added these remarks while welcoming the guests.
It is worth mentioning, in this meeting the Director General of Skills Development, the Director of Foreign Relations, and advisor to the Deputy Minster were also present.
